Method

For the Base:

1. Preheat the oven to 200°C. Grease a 12-hole muffin pan.

2. Roll the pastry out on a floured surface to a ½ cm thickness. Cut circles of pastry slightly larger than the muffin tin holes and place the pastry rounds into the muffin tin.

For the Custard Filling:

1. Mix the Moir’s Custard Powder with the sugar and 1-2 tbsp of hot water. Mix well.

2. Bring the milk to a boil, add the custard powder and Moir’s Vanilla Essence. Mix well, lower the heat and stir until the custard has thickened.

3. Remove from the heat, cool slightly, then fill the pastry cases with the custard mixture.

4. Sprinkle the tarts with brown sugar and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the tarts.

500g packet puff pastry

50g Moir’s Custard Powder

2 tbsp (30ml) sugar

2 cups (500ml) milk

2 tsp (10ml) Moir’s Vanilla Essence

To Serve:

2 tbsp (30ml) brown sugar
